Cooking day with the grandmas on Dimitrovden day!

At 11:00 we arrived at the elderly daycare centre for a very special day. At start we were offered some typical Bulgarian food and right after that one of the grandmas went to show us how to cook banitsa while wearing a typical Bulgarian costume. Then, Anabel, one of the volunteers from our group, wore the costume to learn how to make the banitsa herself. After that all of the boys from the volunteer group tried the banitsa cooking technique for a little bit and then we all ate one of the ones the grandmas had made before.

Also, one Bulgarian National Radio member came to interview us regarding the event and the celebrations of Dimitrovden day.

Needless to say that we left the elderly centre about to explode with all that food!!
