The aim of the Creative Youth Academy Project is to gather volunteers from several European countries to work with disadvantaged and disabled children and local community stimulating and improving the way people live in the town of Razlog Municipality. Most of these people are threaten to drop out from educational system and/or are representatives of marginalized groups of the society and obviously they need motivation to develop their skills and empower their potential as they communicate with the volunteers from different cultures.
The team visits places like schools, institutions for the disabled, rehabilitation centres, shelters for disadvantaged kids and elderly day-care centres and their tasks are organising different workshops in seven fields (music, dances, handcrafts, outdoor activities, ecology and environment, arts, creative writing and entrepreneurship). By using the non-formal methods of education they will enrich their educational process and realize the importance of education.
The volunteering team of IIC (International Initiatives for Cooperation) is composed by 4 people: 2 guys from Portugal (Luis and Antonio), 2 guys from Spain (Anabel and Ruben), from Italy (Filly and Janiki) and from Germany (Dorothea)
